If your FileMaker project or application contains addressing functions that requires the ability to incorporate the new U.S. Postal Service Intelligent Mail^© Barcode (IMb™), then consider saving yourself considerable time and expense by purchasing this FileMaker solution model.

At this time, there are FileMaker add-in products available that will provide this function. If a native FileMaker-coded product is preferred, our low-cost solution may be your best starting place.

The code model product offered here is for converting the Postal Tracking Information ( 15 digits containing the Barcode ID, Service Type ID, Mailer ID and Mailer Serial ID ) and the Postal Routing Information ( 11 digit, 9 digit, 5 digit or 0 digit, Zip Code, Zip Code Plus 4 and 2 Delivery Point Digits ) to a 65 character string that can then be displayed and printed using the USPS IMb Fonts (included).

For Version 1:
Due to the nature of the USPS encoding formulas, a single, small 1366 record database is required for this solution model. In addition, the encoding process requires a script for execution and is not in the form of a single, multiple or self-contained FileMaker Custom Function.

For Version 2:
The encoding formulas are maintained in one global record and calculated from a memory variable.

Please note that this code was developed under the Windows version of FileMaker.
A programmer that works in Apple OS environments can easily port the FileMaker code to function under any operating system and version of FileMaker.

The code will be provided in an unlocked .fp7 file, and contains two tables and 4 scripts.
